Walking The Lenten Garden

The Garden Gate – Good Friday
The gate stands quietly today.
It stands between what was
And what will be.
Not swinging.
Not dramatic.
Simply present.
A threshold.
In the first garden, a gate closed.
The way to life was guarded.
Cherubim stood watch.
Flame and separation marked the entrance.
Humanity stood outside.
Not abandoned —
but unable to return.
On this day, another gate stands.
No sword flashes.
No angels bar the way.
The sky does not need to darken.
The earth does not need to shake.
Love stands at the threshold.
What was once guarded
is now opened from within.
Not forced.
Not seized.
Not climbed.
Unlocked.
The hinge does not move yet.
The full opening will come.
Today,
Love makes the way possible.
The garden holds its breath —
not in fear, but in Presence.
It began in a garden.
And here, at the gate,
Love made all things new.
