The Mirror

“A quiet forest pond reflects the full moon above, with a small figure standing at its edge. Framed by two trees, the scene invites stillness — a moment of self-revelation under the gaze of heaven. Two flanking images of a path in a forest.

Bread from Heaven

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!”
— Psalm 139:23 (RSV-2CE)

Today’s Portion

The stillness wasn’t just quiet anymore.
It had become a mirror.

And Anna didn’t quite know what to do with what it was beginning to reflect.

There was longing tucked behind her prayers.
A subtle ache she hadn’t named.
Questions she hadn’t dared to say out loud.

And in the quiet scroll of her day, she sometimes noticed envy — not loud or bitter, just a quiet wondering:
Why them, Lord… and not me?

The silence hadn’t just paused her life — it was unveiling her heart.

But even that unveiling didn’t feel harsh.
It felt sacred.
As though God wasn’t judging her from a distance… but sitting beside her, helping her see it all with compassion.

Not to shame her.
But to invite her closer.
To say, Even here, I still love you.

Where This Touches You

  • What has waiting revealed about your heart?

  • Is there anything you’re beginning to see that you’ve been afraid to face?

Manna to Carry with You

Waiting often quiets the world around you — and in that stillness, it gently begins to reveal what’s been waiting inside.

You may notice desires you didn’t name before. Fears you’ve tried to manage.
Longings you tucked away because they felt too tender.

But none of it surprises God.
He doesn’t love the polished version of you.

He loves you too much to leave the mirror empty. He loves the real one —
the one that’s learning to be honest in His presence.
And that’s where healing begins.

🍞 Bread for the Journey

Lord, show me what my waiting is revealing.
Help me see it not as failure, but as formation.
Sit with me in the truth — and love me through it.
Not because I’m perfect… but because I’m yours.
