When Nothing Moves

“Three quiet paths leading into a forest at dusk, one marked with footsteps. A scene wrapped in stillness, where the way forward is hidden, and movement feels just out of reach.”

Bread From Heaven

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”
— Isaiah 30:15 (RSV-2CE)

 Today’s Portion

Anna didn’t know what to do with silence.
So she tried to outwork it.

She filled her planner with color-coded blocks. Organized her inbox. Cleaned the pantry. Made lists.

If she couldn’t hear God, maybe she could hurry Him.

She thought productivity would be peace. But the more she accomplished, the less she could quiet her heart. Every unchecked box on the to-do list reminded her: this wasn’t something she could fix.

And that was the hardest part.
The waiting wasn’t just silence — it was surrender.

Late that night, she caught herself gripping her pen tighter than she meant to. Her fingers hurt.
She set it down slowly and whispered, “Okay… I’m listening.”

 Where This Touches You

  • Are you trying to manage your waiting by staying busy?

  • Is there something you’re holding too tightly in this season?

 Manna To Carry With You

Control often feels safer than stillness. But God isn’t calling you to micromanage the miracle — He’s inviting you to trust the mystery.

The work of waiting isn’t in your hands.
Let them rest.

  🍞 Bread For The  Journey

Jesus, I hand You the parts of my waiting I’m trying to organize and control.
I surrender the checklist I thought would bring peace.

Teach me the strength of stillness. Let my open hands become a space for grace.
